Q. I have booked the hire of the hall on the phone so what happens next? A. You will receive an application form and conditions of hire that you need to complete and return with your remittance. You will then receive an invoice showing the details of your booking. Q. How do I get the keys for opening the centre? A. Our caretakers will open and close the centre for you and explain where the equipment you may need is stored. Q. Can I get in early to set up my tables or equipment? A. No! Because you will possibly be using another hirer’s time. Q. If I want to gain early access what do I need to do? A. You will need to pay for the earlier hire of 4 hours. Q. I intend to sell alcohol at my event so do I need a licence? A. Yes, you need a licence obtainable from East Herts Council at Wallfields. Q. Can we put the bar in the hall? A. No! The flooring of the hall could be damaged. Alcohol can only be served from the kitchen or side Meeting Room. Q. At the end of the hire do the caretakers put the equipment that I’ve used away? A. No! You are expected to wipe tables clean and return all equipment to the store where you obtained it. Q. Can I hire the hall for 1 hour at a cheaper rate? A. We don’t hire any part of the centre at an hourly rate. Our session rates are for 4hours! Q. Are we able to use the car park? A. Yes but you must remove your vehicle at the end of the hire. Q. Can I leave the car at the centre overnight? A. No! The centre is not insured for the storage of individual’s cars. Q. What are the sizes of the halls? The whole hall measures 15.5 metres X 10 metres. The larger hall measures 9.5 metres X 10 metres The smaller hall 6.5 metres X 10 metres. The overall working height is 3.5 metres. Q. Do you supply tables and chairs? A. Yes this equipment is listed on your application form and available to all users. Q. Do I have use of the kitchen? A.
